2016-06-06

This month, BWA & Alameda County Social Services Agency launched “Don’t Worry Mom”, a new elder financial abuse awareness campaign in Alameda County. The effort is aimed at increasing awareness of elder financial abuse as well as encouraging the community to report all suspected instances of abuse.

The centerpiece of the campaign involves a video ad, which can be seen through cable providers as well as online. The campaign also includes transit shelters, posters in 9 other languages, and collateral distributed through community partners as well as convenience store posters throughout Alameda County over the next several months. All of the ads point to the website AlamedaElderAbuse.org, which includes information about financial abuse as well as tips to help seniors protect themselves.
