Better World at the APHA Conference in San Francisco
Last week, BWA was pleased to participate in the 140th Annual American Public Health Association (APHA) Meeting and Exposition held at the Moscone Center October 27-31st in San Francisco. BWA staff gave three presentations: "HIV Stops With Me: The Long-term Impact of a Social Marketing Campaign on HIV Secondary Prevention," "Using Social Marketing to Promote Tobacco-Free Schools," and "Branding: Establishing a Strategic and Effective Identity for Your Organization or Program." In addition, our team members attended meetings and sessions on a variety of subject areas including: the FDA role in tobacco regulation; health communication; mobile applications and technology; public health in indigenous communities; social media and public health; sugar-sweetened beverage consumption; tobacco marketing; and more. We also sponsored a booth in the Exhibition Hall and hosted a fabulous cocktail party in our SF office! We were thrilled to have the opportunity to meet and learn from so many other public health professionals who share our passion for creating a better world.
