BWA is Presenting at the XIX International AIDS Conference 2012
Better World Advertising was accepted to present at the poster exhibition at the XIX International AIDS Conference, to be held this July in Washington, D.C. Our abstract "HIV Stops With Me: The long-term impact of a social marketing campaign on HIV secondary prevention" will focus on the healthy behavior change our HIV Stops With Me campaign has had using the method of Prevention with Positives. HIV Stops With Me has undergone over seven different phases since its initial launch in San Francisco in 1999, and has since run in target markets from New York to Alaska. The campaign has been nominated for Best Advertising Campaign by GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and received a W3 Award, Davey Award, Telly Award, two Webby Awards and an American Graphic Design Award.
Due to a (now rescinded) United States travel ban that prohibited HIV-infected foreigners from receiving a US visa, the International AIDS Conference has not been held in the United States for 22 years. Over 25,000 delegates from 200 countries will convene for this collaborative world conference and BWA is thrilled to participate. Our presentation will focus on the evaluation data for the HIV Stops With Me campaign over the years and how it has reached HIV positive men and women to empower them to prevent the spread of the virus.
