BWA Participates in the 10th Annual NAESM Conference in LA!

From January 17-20th, BWA attended the 10th Annual National African American MSM Leadership Conference on HIV/AIDS and other Health Disparities in sunny Los Angeles, California. This year's theme was 10 Years and the Dialogue Continues - HIV Prevention as Social Justice for Black Gay Men/MSM 2013 and Beyond. No convening of Black MSM to discuss HIV prevention would be complete without the inclusion of BWA's Testing Makes Us Stronger campaign, which was promoted by the CDC at the event and was featured in several presentations given by researchers and social scientists. In addition, spokesmodel Jahlove from BWA's HIV STOPS WITH ME campaign appeared in a docudrama called “Friend of Essex,” which linked the work of Essex Hemphill to the struggle of today's Black gay man. This is the only national conference for and by Black gay men and BWA was excited to see the significant contribution our campaigns have made to the dialogue.
