BWA to Present at Public Health Conference
Better World has been invited to present at the 140th American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting & Exposition taking place in San Francisco October 27-31, 2012. The APHA Conference is the oldest and largest gathering of public health professionals in the world, attracting more than 13,000 national and international physicians, administrators, nurses, educators, researchers, epidemiologists and related health specialists. APHA's meeting addresses current and emerging health science, policy and practice issues in an effort to prevent disease and promote health.
BWA will be presenting "HIV Stops With Me: The Long-term Impact of a Social Marketing Campaign on HIV Secondary Prevention" in the session on the Power of Media in HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment. This poster presentation will highlight the impact of the campaign over the past 12 years. We will also be presenting "Using Social Marketing to Promote Tobacco-Free Schools," which focuses on our We’re Watching campaign targeting school administration in New York State to enforce effective tobacco-free campus policies. Additionally, "Branding: Establishing a Strategic and Effective Identity for Your Organization or Program" will be presented in the Health Promotion, Social Marketing and Mass Media session. Here we will feature several of our most successful branding projects for public health and human service agencies and share best practices for creating a well-established, cohesive identity that will resonate with audiences.
