BWA Welcomes a New Project Coordinator in New York!

BWA is pleased to welcome Sophia Davis, our new Project Coordinator, to the New York office. Sophia’s passion for public health started in college. As an undergraduate at Duke University, Sophia tested her peers for HIV and taught a course called, “Dating and Mating,” that explored hook-up culture on college campuses. She also participated in Duke's Center for Race Relations, where she facilitated dialogue with her peers on the intersections of race, gender and sexuality.

She currently sits on the board of QUEEROCRACY, an activist organization that cultivates the leadership of queer folks and people living with HIV/AIDS in NYC. Prior to BWA, Sophia worked at a public health consulting firm, where she focused on initiatives in domestic health and HIV/AIDS. She sat on the board of Students Active for Ending Rape from March 2012-2013. She has also previously worked at a communications firm and interned at the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S.

As a first-generation Antiguan-American, Sophia is happy to now call Brooklyn, NY her home. In her free time she enjoys breaking bread with friends, traveling and dancing.

As BWA’s Project Coordinator in New York, Sophia provides support for a variety of campaigns across the company and the country.
