HIV STOPS WITH ME Campaign Launches in NYC and Buffalo
This month, BWA and the New York State Department of Health launched the 2014 HIV STOPS WITH ME campaign in New York City and Buffalo. This year the campaign focuses on prevention and treatment, with a bold message about the goal to remain undetectable. The new campaign encourages HIV positive people to find a doctor, keep appointments, check lab results and stay on their medication.
In NYC and Buffalo, full page ads can be seen in several local gay publications including NEXT, DBQ, and ARTVOICE. They can also be found at bus shelters, in subways, and at the entrance to convenience stores throughout both cities. In NYC, the ads with take-one brochures can also be found in the waiting room of doctor’s offices that specialize in the treatment of HIV. Similar ads with brochures are also being displayed in pharmacies across Buffalo, where HIV medications are distributed.
Our courageous NYC and Buffalo spokesmodels, who are the faces of the campaign, come from very diverse backgrounds. As activists and leaders in their communities, they are committed to stopping the spread of HIV while also promoting the value of self-care and healthy living. We are very proud of the work they do and their continued participation in the campaign. Make sure to check out the profile of our newest NYC spokesmodel, Cory.
