HIV STOPS WITH ME Launches in Honor of HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
BWA recently launched the newest phase of HIV STOPS WITH ME in Buffalo, New York City and Maryland in honor of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on February 7th. The Virginia launch will be coming soon. This new phase of the campaign has broadened its message by promoting HIV treatment and proper self-care as effective means of reducing rates of HIV transmission. Previously focused on LGBT communities, the campaign’s new direction also includes targeting African American heterosexual HIV positive men and women. Never before has there been a more eclectic group of spokesmodels unified in their common message to seek treatment, use condoms and respect yourself so that HIV STOPS WITH ME.
The stylish, fashion forward new look reflects the eye for glamour of celebrity photographer and HIV/AIDS activist Mike Ruiz who shot the campaign. In New York City, the subway station at 14th Street and 8th Avenue has been transformed by a station domination media buy into an art gallery showcasing HIV STOPS WITH ME on every wall and stairwell. Over the next couple of months, the ads can also be seen on buses, billboards, convenience stores, bus shelters and several local publications in NYC, Buffalo and Maryland.
