Independence wins 2014 Gold Communicator Award!
BWA is excited to announce that Independence was awarded a 2014 Gold Communicator Award of Excellence (highest honor) in the “Online Video - Public Service” category. Independence is one of three BWA campaigns to receive a Gold Award of Excellence.
The campaign was developed in partnership with Sonoma County Department of Health Services in an effort to prevent tobacco initiation by Sonoma County teens. The centerpiece of the campaign is a thirty-second commercial that features teens explaining how tobacco companies get you hooked on nicotine and gain control over you and your health. By rejecting tobacco, however, you assert your independence, as reflected by the phrase: “It’s not for me, I go my own way.” The commercial is currently airing on Comcast Cable networks in Sonoma County as well as on YouTube and in movie theaters.
The Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program recognizing big ideas and creative excellence in marketing and communications. Please visit www.communicatorawards.com to learn more and view the full winners list.
