Testing Makes Us Stronger Campaign Launches in Oakland!

Testing Makes Us Stronger, a national campaign by BWA in collaboration with the CDC, launched in Oakland the week before last. Oakland is the third of six launches in specifically targeted cities that have a high rate of African American Men who have Sex with Men (MSM). The campaign, which aims to demonstrate that knowing one’s HIV status is important and empowering information, features bold images in national publications and online.

The launch, held at the African American Museum and Library in downtown Oakland, had a great turnout of representatives from the CDC, the Alameda County Public Health Department and local organizations. There was a great sense of community and support as various speakers voiced what the campaign meant to them. BWA staff from the San Francisco office were out in full force to support the campaign, talk about its production and see all of their hard work come to fruition.
