Vaping Is Not Harm-Free! Don't Take The Vape: Acetone
We are excited to announce the launch of the second phase of the Don't Take The Vape awareness campaign in conjunction with the Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department (SCCBHSD) and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department (SCCPHD). This phase of the campaign focuses on the harmful effects of acetone, a chemical used in the stripping of paint from surfaces, that is just one of many toxic chemicals produced when a person vapes. The goal of the campaign is to educate youth ages 12-17 in Santa Clara County about the adverse health risks associated with vaping such as the production of acetone, being more susceptible to illnesses including COVID-19, and reduced performance in physical activities. The campaign seeks to not only provide knowledge, but empower youth to take agency over their own health and encourages them to become part of a movement to uplift and inspire their peers to either not start or quit vaping. The campaign will run for six weeks on Instagram, Snapchat, and through mobile banner and video ads.
